Here is the study guide for Monday's test. Today, we will answer journal 2 of the second marking period: Describe the last time you won an argument. How did you win?
We will examine the arguments students made last night about subsistence farming versus maquiladora work. Then, we will look at strategies to improve our written arguments. For homework, students should re-write their arguments using the strategies we discuss today. Today, we reviewed the countries of Central America and the Caribbean.
We finished our notes from yesterday and discussed some of the differences in lifestyle between subsistence farmers and maquiladora workers. For homework, students should write which way of life they think is better, and give at least three supporting details. Today, we answered our first journal question of the second marking period: "After writing your Latin America travelogue, what was the most important thing you learned about your country? What was the most important thing you learned about the research process?"
We began taking notes on Mexico. For homework, students should complete the map of Central America and the Caribbean. Here are the instructions. |
